I have been sick for 2 1/2 weeks. Just a cold, but I can’t make it go away. To prove my point, I was actually too sick to read. I know!!! I could only lay in the bed and stare at the walls. And cough.
So anyway, I didn’t get that much read in December, but I’ll give you some highlights.
I finally read Eclipse (The Twilight Saga). I actually kinda liked it. Last time I couldn’t get past page 50. I think I was in the right mental space this time. You know, on cold medicine. Don’t judge.
At the book club Christmas party this year I scored a copy of A Dirty Job: A Novel which my friend Tammy had been telling me I HAD to read for ages. Also a good one to read on cold medicine. I loved the hellhounds that the little girl calls “the puppies”.
I must have been a really good girl this year, cause Mike gave me a Kindle for Christmas. I’ve been having such a great time with it.
I read Mister Pip in a day. Now, because the Kindle doesn’t tell you how many pages that is in a real book, I have no idea how big the book is, but I was really impressed with myself for reading it in a day. It’s a pretty good book, by the way. The one white guy on this pacific island (after the other whites leave during a revolution) volunteers to teach the island kids in school. Mostly, he reads to them from Great Expectations. That’s where the Pip thing comes from.
Well, that’s about the extent of it for now. Beware the Mutant Death Cold. It’s brutal.

No judging from me! I read the last two books of the Twilight series when I was laid up on the couch with the flu. I feel your pain!
Feel better soon!!!!
