I’m so Depressed!!!

If you’re paying attention to that sort of thing, you will notice that tags for this post are “Books” and “Motley Crue”. Once again, two of my favorite things combine.

Or it was supposed to.

In April or May, I found out that Vince Neil (the lead singer of Motley Crue) was going to publish a book this summer called Crued and Tattoed. I was, of course, first in line at the library for it.

Then, last week, I got an email that plunged me into the depths of despair. The library was canceling my request because the book’s publication date had been postponed.

Postponed!!! What?! When?!

Yeah, til October 2012.

3 more years!!!! Whatever shall I do? I guess I’ll just have to read The Dirt again. le sigh

It’s the new Motley Crue album! It’s the first album of all new material they’ve done in 10 years. I’m a little bit excited.

Michael and I have sustained noticeable hearing damage. It was so loud, you could feel it in your chest. It was so loud, it was nauseating. It freaking ROCKED!

We were on the 12th row. Way closer than I was in OKC last year. This building is about half the size, but they used the same amount of power as in the Ford Center.

If you’ll notice, the categories for this entry are Books and Motley Crue. Yes, once again, dear readers, the two are one.

Nerd Girl Rocks Paradise City, by Anne Thomas Soffee, is my new acquisition. It is a memoir about the author’s years as a journalist in Hair Metal L.A. Let’s just say that I knew this book was for me when she quoted Vince Neil in the jacket copy. Hell Yeah! I love this chick. I’ll review it for real after I’ve actually read it.

Marie, you’ve got to see this book. She graduated from College in 1989, I think.

For this lovely bit of info. Apparently, the maker of the Some Kind of Monster movie about Metallica (which my library branch carries, and invariably shelves on the kids’ movie rack !) is going to do a movie about Tommy Lee! So probably not a “home movie”. Quite excited.

Because I usually am… They are coming to my town!!!! Last spring, I drove 120 miles to see them in concert. Now, I get to see them in my own town. You cannot imagine how excited I am! Maybe the overload of exclamation points will get the point across!!!

Tragedy!

Apparently, Tommy Lee of Motley Crue was injured in a pyrotechnic mishap at a concert in Wyoming. He’s been released, and the Crue is not cancelling any shows.

My boy Vince was injured in Atlanta some weeks ago. What the hell is going on with these guys?

I’ve heard this twice, now. From 2 different sources, so it must be true.

Vince Neil is coming out with a new wine. Called Vince. I can hardly wait. I’ll be staking out the liquor store. Sleeping on the sidewalk. Just like getting Motley Crue tickets!
